Compound Chemistry
WHO WE ARE
Compound Chemistry is a fusion instrumental duo whose name reflects the musical alchemy at the heart of our sound. Growing up in a small town in Portugal, we—Samperoli (drums) and André Soares (guitar)—started out with a deep love for rock before expanding our horizons into jazz, funk, folk, and latin music.
Our mission is to push the boundaries of instrumental music while staying true to what we love most: expression, improvisation, and connection.
On April 17, 2024, Compound Chemistry released their debut self-titled studio album with strong influences gravitating towards prog rock and metal. Since then, they have performed across the UK, appeared at festivals around Europe, and received radio airplay in Austria and Germany.

While our first album gravitated toward prog rock and metal influences, our newest material is inspired by fusion—blending funk, latin, and jazz into something entirely our own.

About Self-Titled Album
Debut album Compound Chemistry (2024) presents nine instrumental compositions exploring groove-based jazz fusion and improvisation.
Running approximately 36 minutes, the record moves between tight rhythmic themes and open improvisational sections, highlighting the musical dialogue between guitar and drums.
